Stars 'R' Us Theater Troupe started out a small community theater company created in Fairfield West area of Huntington, WV. They aim to broaden, strengthen, and enrich the theater experience in our home state of West Virginia and surrounding areas. As a troupe they strive to enhance the reputation of African-American theater in an area where our youth and young adults are faced with challenges, little art and culture, and a lack of positive community involvement. Through the theater they hope to create a community of people who empower each other to make constructive life choices, all while providing an empowering experience of theater arts.

More info on "Wine in the Wilderness":

A drama/comedy that displays the perceptions of African-American women within their community. The play highlights issues such as: classism, sexism, and racism amongst African American community. Based off 1969 riots in Harlem, NY a night that is tearing the fabric of the community apart, Bill Jameson (Norman Branch), an artist is trying to complete his Triptych painting when his best friend, Sonnyman (Cameron Holmes) and his wife Cynthia (Dwedee Kobbah), find the perfect girl for the model job. What appears to be a silver lining in the clouds until “Oldtimer” (Thomas Shaw) lets the cat out the bag and Tommy Fields (Cecilia Hart), the model gives them a piece of reality. This is a propelling drama that shows the controversy between African-American men and women and the hardships of equality between equal work forces as women become more educated and look for equality.
